This information is difficult to find in any of Symantec's documentation, but not performing this step will prevent you from being able to uninstall SEP. In versions earlier than 14.0.1 (14 RU1), click the Symantec Endpoint Protection client icon in the Menu bar, then click Uninstall. This article provides steps to obtain the Dell Data Security Uninstaller for these products. Click on the Tamper Protection tab and uncheck the box for 'Protect Symantec security software from being tampered with or shut down. As of 14.0.1, open the client user interface, then click Symantec Endpoint Protection > Uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection. The Dell Data Security Uninstaller provides a streamlined removal method for the listed Windows Dell Data Security (formerly Dell Data Protection) Affected Products.
